Parent Engagement
Multicultural Feast
I planned and coordinated a multicultural feast for my class. Parents were invited into the classroom to celebrate all the different cultures we share. Parents brought in a dish from their culture and shared something important from their culture. Multicultural Feast

Class Play
During the 2021-2022 school year parents were not allowed in the classroom due to Covid restrictions. I planned and coordinated a play for my 4th grade class. Students researched and published Nonfiction writing pieces about Indigenous Americans. The class performed the play “The Rough-Face Girl” script from Reader’s Theater. Students worked together to perform the play and showcase their knowledge of the Indigenous Americans culture. Students also created props using their knowledge of the I invited parents to view the performance via Zoom as an opportunity to be involved in our classroom. Class Play
Photos below include a lesson from the Indigenous Americans Unit Plan, bulletin board displayed in the classroom, and photos of students' final projects to showcase their knowledge at the end of the unit. Students built wigwams, totem poles, and made pottery. These projects were created with the class play in mind, so students were able to include their projects during the class play performed for families on Zoom.
